Adtec Digital, the leading provider of contribution, distribution and compression solutions, today introduced the EN-30, a two-channel multi-CODEC High and Standard definition contribution and distribution encoder supporting ATSC, DVB, ISDB-T and ISDB-Tb via ASI, IP or QAM platforms.
The EN-30 inherits Adtec’s broadcast-quality compression, advanced feature set, service performance and reliability in a new, dense, two-channel platform targeted to high value applications. The lightweight and cost effective EN-30 offers numerous features and specifications in its 1 RU chassis, including redundant AC power supplies, enhanced control and monitoring via its front-panel, a browser-based interface and SNMP. The EN-30 offers versatile video support of standard definition and high definition MPEG 2 and AVC content. It can support two MPEG 2 channels, and one MPEG 2 and one AVC channel, or two AVC channels of output. The EN-30 boasts eight channels of phase-aligned audio per video service, robust VBI support, reliability and ease of use. In addition to encoding phase aligned MPEG 1 audio, the EN-30 adds support for Dolby Digital Plus, ACC-LC and HE-AAC (v1 and v2) mixed mode audio encoding supporting stereo (2.0) and multi-channel surround (5.1) modes. “This cost-effective package will fast become the encoder of choice for any price sensitive SNG, or mid-level contribution provider,” explains Michael Armstrong, Adtec key accounts UK - EU North. “It’s a big bang for the money.” “The EN-30 is a solution for many markets,” says Ron Johnson, SVP marketing for Adtec Digital. “We’re pleased to provide a solid HD/SD solution for educational institutions, healthcare facilities, cable operations, and major TV broadcasters.” The EN-30 encodes and concurrently transports services via ASI, IP and DVBS/S2. The DVBS/S2 modulator is available in IF or L-band with modulation modes ranging from QPSK up to 32APSK 5% rolloff based on software licenses.
